A square with a secret
Plaça del Diamant. You arrive, find a comfortable spot and it plays: "under your feet there is an air-raid shelter from 1937, used during the Spanish Civil War…" In ten minutes you have found a good story right under your feet. Your first Sherppi of the day
A house nobody notices
On the way to a bodega for an aperitif, one you found out about in Plaça del Diamant, you walk past Casa Eloy Detouche and another Flash pops up. You had been crossing this street for years without looking up
Vermouth
Bodega Iturre. A Sherppa who knows traditional bodegas inside out tells you not to leave without trying the anchovy Gilda and the bravas. With the vermouth on the table you open "your trail of the day" and put the afternoon together: a walk around the Sagrada Família, a visit to a shop and maybe a coffee
A Cast in the gardens
You walk over to the Sagrada Família. You sit down in Plaça de Gaudí and Carmen, a Sherppa who knows the city's history, tells you in a relaxed conversation the story and the curiosities of one of the most visited places in Europe
Something for next weekend
At the end of the Cast, Carmen talks about her Tour of the Gòtic. Friends are coming next Saturday, so it sounds like the perfect plan to keep and do something different with them. You give it a <3 and save it to your favourites
A shop and a coffee
You keep walking around the barri. La Tiendita Deco BCN shows up on your Radar, five minutes away: Martín, our Sherppa for decoration and ceramics, recommends exactly what you were looking for. And two streets from there is Tefi, a pastry shop with delicious specialty coffee, just right to round off the day
What stays
Back in the calm of home you get curious, open the app, look at your Diario and Saturday is already written: six Sherppis, each with its time and the voice of the person who told it to you. The two you shared with your friend Marta carry her name, and they show up the same way in her Diario. The Gòtic Tour is waiting in your favourites <3
Four ways to do a Sherppi
A Sherppi is each kind of content you finish in the app. A Tour, a Cast, a Flash or a Spot are four different ways for a Sherppa to keep you company, always in their own voice. Everything you do is saved in your Diario and your Crew sees it
Tour
It is like a free tour, but with no group, nobody walking in front of you and no set time
A route through a neighbourhood, stop by stop. When you reach each one, the Sherppa who prepared the route tells you the story of the place. You find out the next stop when you finish the one before. You do it with no timetable, at your own pace, with no rush. A fine way to take a good walk, good for the body and for the spirit
Cast
It is like going around a museum or a monument while listening to a podcast
We take the best of the podcast format, those easy everyday conversations, so that our Sherppas can keep you company while you go around the Prado Museum, the Eiffel Tower or the Sagrada Família. It all fits in a format you can listen to wherever and whenever you like, but listening while you walk around the place itself is the best way
Flash
It is like getting a voice note from a neighbour to explain a square to you
You could call it a short version of the Cast, an audio of ten minutes at most, that pops up on its own when you walk past: you learn the story and the curiosities of that house, square, fountain or corner that is not on the maps. It is like the best things in life, the ones you find when you are not looking
Spot
It is like someone from the neighbourhood taking you to their favourite place
Shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and corners that are an oasis in the middle of the city: to switch off for a while, charge your phone, get your strength back or buy something made nearby that is worth taking home. You find them on the Radar, close to where you are, and they come with the recommendation of the Sherppa who knows them. It is the voice neighbourhood shops were missing.
Every voice has a name
The soul of Sherppi is people. A Sherppa lives their city and chooses the corners, the stories and the places they like, the ones worth discovering. From those voices comes a community of explorers who arrive somewhere to understand it, because for them travelling is nourishing, because it means respecting what they find, mixing with the people who live there and buying where they buy. Without people there is no culture, and a city without culture is only a backdrop.

A Sherppi is finished when you have listened to it, visited it or both. Every Spot, every Tour is dated: the day is saved, and whether you had company
Diario
It is like that travel notebook you always wanted to write. But this digital diary writes itself. Every Sherppi you finish goes into your Diario, ordered by day: the Saturday in Gràcia stays there with its six Sherppis, the time of each one, the voice that told it to you and whether you had company. A year from now it will still be there, and ten years from now too. It is your story in the city, not a list of achievements.
Crew
Your Crew is the people you enjoy and share your life with: your partner, your friends, your family. You add them to your Crew with an S-Code, each person's Passport number. We built this space as a private network where you are in control, with no followers and no strangers. It works simply: you see their Diario and they see yours. And when you do a Sherppi together, it is recorded in both.
Panda
The Panda decides as it goes. It explores with no expectations and without looking at the clock.
What is your Explorer Soul?
One of the first great moments you will have when you open Sherppi is doing the fun quiz, in a nineties Cosmopolitan style, "What is your urban instinct?": in just eight questions you will find out your instinct for discovering a city. That instinct has a face, so when you finish you will know which of the 16 Explorer Souls is yours: the animal that describes how you walk a city, and its playful essence. It also matters a lot, because the quiz is what issues your Passport, the digital document that lets you add people to your Crew with your S-Code, the code your friends use to add you to theirs, and earn STK, which are credits for discounts on your paid Tours and Casts.
Your Passport
It is like the document you get when you enter a country, except this one is issued to you by the city. It carries your Explorer Soul, its Essence and your S-Code: the number your friends use to put you in their Crew. It never changes, and you share it as an image, for stories or for the WhatsApp group.

If every time someone visits your city you end up showing them around, or you are the friend everyone asks for a plan or a place to go, then Sherppi is for you. We would love to meet you, explain how we work together and how you can earn from what you know. All you need is to find the time to record and tell your stories. We take care of the rest.
What people usually ask us
Before you start
A phone and an email address. We send you a code, you type it in and you are inside: no password, no phone number, no social accounts.
Starting is free. Flash and Spots always are. Tours cost €8.90 and Casts €4.90, but during the launch they will be free for a limited time.
Barcelona. In October we open Mexico City.
Not yet! It will be very soon. In the meantime, you can always open Sherppi from your phone's browser, at sherppi.app, and save it to your home screen like any app.
While you explore
For a Tour, a Flash or a Spot, yes: they are content that happens where you are. For a Cast, no: you listen wherever you like, even from another city, before you travel if you feel like it.
Of course! Everyone brings their own phone and their own Diario; if you are in the same Crew, the Sherppi shows up in both, with each other's name on it.
By default, in the language each Sherppa recorded them in. Today most are in Spanish, but all the content is translated into English in the Sherppa's own voice. The interface is in Spanish and English.
What you keep
Any activity or content you listen to, such as a Tour, Cast, Flash or Spot. You find it in the app, walk to where it is, listen to it, finish it and it is saved in your Diario. "We did three Sherppis in New York: a Tour and two Spots" is a sentence you are going to say.
You and your Crew. Nobody else, and we do not show it to anyone either. There are no public profiles, no followers and no way to discover people.
Yes, although you should not. Your urban instinct is discovered once, and your original Explorer Soul should stay with you for good, like your S-Code. Still, we know you may have been distracted and not paid attention, which is why it is worth taking your time. One thing: if you have a Halo Passport, your S-Code, which includes the first two letters of your Explorer Soul, cannot be changed.
We would be very sad if you did, but yes. You can do it from Profile, whenever you like. Everything is deleted: Diario, Passport and Crew.
Who is behind it
Curious people who love telling stories and experiences. We call them Sherppas, and they are people like you who live in any of the cities where we exist. They have trusted us to tell us what it is like where they live, what they buy, what is worth visiting. We are very lucky to have them. They are the soul of the app, our bet and what sets us apart on the way to becoming the number one cultural content platform in the world.
